Hijama, or wet cupping, is a traditional practice rooted in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. For many Muslims, hijama is more than a wellness practice, it is a way to honor the example of the Prophet ﷺ and maintain a connection to an important part of Islamic tradition.
At FIXD Body Therapy, I offer hijama to women in a professional, private setting with respect for its Islamic significance and careful attention to individual needs. For Muslim women who wish to follow this Sunnah, hijama offers an opportunity to incorporate a traditional prophetic practice into their personal wellness routine.
Hijama has a long history of use in traditional wellness practices. People seek it for a variety of reasons, including:
Individual experiences vary. Hijama is not a substitute for medical evaluation or treatment, and it should be considered one part of an overall approach to wellness.
Hijama is not appropriate for everyone. Your health history and current circumstances matter when determining whether the practice is suitable for you.
Hijama may be contraindicated or require medical clearance in situations involving:
This list is not exhaustive. Please disclose relevant medical conditions, medications, and health concerns before your appointment. If you have a condition that may affect your safety, consult your healthcare provider before receiving hijama.
Hijama should be approached as one component of a thoughtful wellness plan—not as a stand-alone solution for every health concern.
Hijama cannot be used to diagnose, treat, or cure disease, and it should not replace necessary medical care. Continue working with your healthcare team for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, and use hijama only as a complementary practice when appropriate.
My goal is to provide a professional hijama experience that respects the Sunnah while recognizing the importance of individual circumstances, informed decisions, and comprehensive wellness. I am a professional with 20+ years of expertise and experience supporting women in discovery how to obtain and maintain wellness. I practice hijama with strict accordance to the Sunnah.
If your interest in hijama is connected to fertility, please read the Fertility Support Program page first. The program offers a more comprehensive approach to fertility support, and hijama may be considered within that broader plan when appropriate.
After reviewing the program details, contact me to discuss your circumstances and whether there may be a suitable option for you.
IMPORTANT:
*Hijama is not a remedy for sihr. Psychological and metaphysical issues need to be taken to the appropriate spiritual and mental health professionals.
**Ruqya is not a part of the practice of hijama. I do not perform ruqya. I do not use talismans. I am not a psychic. I do not return used materials to you to take home. I do not recite over you. I do not reuse cups. I do not try and fill cups.
***It has come to my attention that some of the unprofessionals performing hijama in NC have used my name as a way to appear affiliated with me in some way. I do not know any of these hijama practitioners in the NC area, even if they claim to know me. I don't wear hazmat suits, niqab during sessions, or charge outrageous price. And all of my pricing is listed up front. There are no hidden fees.
****I have trained highly qualified hijama practitioners in North Carolina and beyond. If you are in need of a practitioner that is closer to your area, feel free to check with me in case I can refer you to an amazing hijama practitioner near you.
